Village Achieves Gold Star Transparency
Posted on May 16th, 2012
The Village of Briarcliff has been awarded the Gold Award Level (highest level) by the Texas Comptroller in their Leadership Circle transparency program ( http://www.texastransparency.org/local/index.php). The Comptroller’s rep that reviewed the community website ( www.BriarcliffTx.com) was impressed with the website’s user friendliness and was especially excited that such a small city as Briarcliff had achieved the Gold Level – very few small cities achieve that level. Mayor Hostetler, who has been working on this project for a year, said that there are further upgrades in the works to our transparency program to include further explanation of money disbursals and a raw (searchable) budget. He praised our Village Clerk, Tina Linder, for her efforts to complete this project. Check online to view what’s happening with our Village.

REMINDER: Mandatory Water Conservation Continues
Posted on May 10th, 2012
Since last summer, mandatory water conservation efforts have been in place. In spite of the recent rains we need to remain diligent in conserving our water as our resevoirs are still dangerously low. Lake Travis is 30' down, and all of Central Texas continues to operate in severe Stage Two drought mode.
The Village of Briarcliff requires all residents to water only two days a week maximum, and only before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Single Family Residential Zoned addresses ending in even numbers are assigned Thursday and Sundays as their watering days, and the odd numbers have Wednesday and Saturday. Commerical and Mulit- Family Zoned areas are asked to use Tuesday and Friday. For more information check out the Public Notices section of this website, or just click here.

Pool Referendum Results
Posted on Mar 3rd, 2012
The pool referendum showed evenly divided results amongst homeowners in the recent BPOA request for opinions regarding building a community owned pool in Briarcliff. Every owner's opinion was sought and over 40% of the homeowners took the time to weigh in on the result. Of the 353 votes turned in 177 were against spending funds to pursue plans for a community pool and 176 were for continuing to research the project. To that end, the Board of Directors decided to shelve researching the idea unless or until a community pool becomes a priority for residents.

Library Taking Suggestions For Briarcliff Summer Programs
Posted on Feb 16th, 2012
Even though it is only February, it is time for Lake Travis Community Library to start planning the Summer Reading Program! Last year's attendance at Briarcliff events was a bit down from previous years, so I would like to hear from you. What sort of programs would you like for us to offer? For what ages should we gear most of the events? What days of the week and times of day might work best for you?
Thank you in advance for your help. We hope to make this a great summer!
