Oak Wilt in Briarcliff
Oak wilt has been confirmed in Briarcliff today by the Texas Forest Service. We confirmed an approximate 1.5 acre area at the corners of Briarcliff/Cargill/Alva Drives (2223x Briarcliff/40x Cargill).
The Village and BPOA will address this aggressively and will publish updates as we pursue solutions in conjunction with the Forest Service. We will have public meetings with Forest Service as we move ahead. The process will take several months so please don't think days or weeks for completion. If you have oak trees that appear to be failing, please call the BPOA office of your concern and we will check it out. For everyone's information, we've watched oak trees fail and we've had the Forest Service out many times over the past 15 years. Every time until now, it was other issues that caused the trees to fail. Unfortunately, now it's our turn to fight this horrible problem.
