Due to recent rains the burn ban has been lifted for Briarcliff. However, before starting any ground fires you must call the fire department at 264-1476 to alert the department that you will be burning. They will also give you the necessary guidelines to follow. The Pedernales Fire Department follows Travis County restrictions, as does Briarcliff, so every Tuesday the Commissioners' Court will review the ruling, and the status will be updated on this website as well as the fire department website at pedernalesfd.org. You can also check to see if the burn ban flag is flying at the fire department. As always, use caution when burning, and please remember that cigarettes are forbidden on the hike and bike trails.
